New Software Solution for Automatic Point Cloud Generation and 3D Modelling from Aerial Images

GTA Geoinformatik GmbH presents new 3D software solutions at COM.GEO 2012 in Washington D.C.

June 25, 2012 -- Fully automated generation of very dense 3D point clouds and Digital Surface Models (DSM) from stereo aerial images (nadir and oblique) seems to become more and more important. Most efficiently this is done using semi global matching (SGM) algorithms. With the software release tridicon® PointCloud GTA offers a new tool that produces  accurate point clouds for 3D analysis as well as textured digital surface models from imagery collected in flight missions with aeroplanes, helicopters or unmanned aerial vehicles as well as satellite imagery or terrestrial photography collected with mobile mapping vehicles.

tridicon® BuildingFinder uses these high quality DSM for object recognition and 3D reconstruction. The automatic production of building footprints and 3D building models in LOD 2 will revolutionize data capture for regions where cadaster data are not available yet. Soon the tridicon® BuildingFinder will replace the tridicion® 3D CityModeller which still uses given 2D vector data like building footprints to automatically produce 3D building models.GTA's software solutions also include the photogrammetric workstation tridicon® 3D EDITOR for quality management of automatically produced 3D building models and editing as well as modules for automatic texturing from aerial imagery (tridicon® TextureMapper), automatic solar potential assessment (tridicon® SOLAR) and 3D real-time visualization and analysis (tridicon® CityDiscoverer).

In cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics research Darmstadt  (IGD) GTA presents the CityServer3D, a 3D database solution for managing and updating 3D city models based on MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL or Oracle. Please see us at the COM.GEO in Washington D.C., simply mail to contact@tridicon.de.About GTA Geoinformatik GmbH GTA, founded in 1995 with its head quarter in Neubrandenburg, Germany is one of the leading developers in 3D software solutions for automatic production of 3D geo-data.  tridicon® software is available for the automatic highspeed production of 3D point clouds, digital surface models, 3D city models as well as automatic texturing from aerial and terrestria #mce_temp_url#l photography. GTA Geoinformatik GmbH also licences more than 200 digital 3D city maps of European and North American major cities as well as 5.500 digital 3D landmarks worldwide.
