Deltek’s new GovWin IQ State & Local government solution provides information and analytics on over $20 billion in annual spending across over 15,000 individual term contracts, helping companies find the right contract and pricing.
HERNDON, Va. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — May 31, 2012 — Deltek, Inc. (Nasdaq: PROJ), the leading global provider of enterprise software and information solutions for professional services firms and government contractors, announced the release of a new State & Local government term contract resource that provides insight and analysis about hardware, software and professional services term contracts and related pricing information, including contract details and pricing on GSA Schedules authorized for cooperative purchasing.
This new resource helps companies find out which term contracts each state maintains, which agencies have to use these term contracts and separately which agencies or governments have access to these term contracts. Additionally, the resource contains information on which companies are on these contracts and their pricing.
In recent years, state and local governments and education institutions have shifted billions of dollars from one-time purchase custom contracts to term contracts awarded to multiple vendors, in which those vendors provide volume discounts or compete for task orders against other qualified vendors. Unlike traditional procurements which are open for public bidding, only the vendors holding a position on the master contract are eligible to bid on or satisfy term contract orders.
“Over the past several years, state and local government spending on term contracts has soared to over $20 billion per year, yet there’s very little consistency from state to state in the reporting or listing of these contracts,” said Schalene Dagutis, Vice President for State & Local Research and Analysis Services at Deltek. “With the new release of Deltek’s GovWin IQ State & Local government term contract resource, companies will from one search be able to access contract and cooperative purchasing vehicles, vendor, pricing and contact information. This is critical information for a company to make intelligent decisions when prioritizing how and where to deploy their limited business development resources.”
The new resource allows organizations to access key information to:
- Discover which contracts are a good fit for their products/services
- Understand where their competitors hold contracts
- Gain insight into their competitors’ pricing
- Learn which term contracts have mandatory use provisions
- Understand which other governments may use term contracts
- Determine which contracts are open enrollment vs. re-compete timeframes
- Uncover cooperative purchasing contracts that can be used by many government jurisdictions
Key features of the new product include powerful search tools, the ability to compare pricing information on the fly, and detailed information on over 15,000 contracts across 50 states and the District of Columbia, including GSA Schedule contracts for information technology and law enforcement solutions. The number of state and local government programs and GSA Schedules covered by the resource will continue to expand in the coming months to include additional and newly established contracts.
