Staffordshire UK, February 8th 2012, Theorem's latest Universal CATIA translator for NX automatically differentiates between CATIA V5 and V4 data files and converts them to NX in a single operation.
This single translator accepts all combinations of CATIA V4 or CATIA V5 data and processes it directly into the Siemens NX file format. It doesn't matter if the CATIA V4 data is in EXPORT, MODEL, SESSION or CATIA V4 Assembly Modeller format as they are all seamlessly processed from CATIA to the NX file format.
In addition, when processing CATIA V5 data, the same translator is capable of processing all combinations of CATProduct or CATPart files or even CATProducts that include references to native CATIA V4 models.
CATIA and NX are widely used in many long-term design projects and it is not unusual for design and manufacturing companies to employ both CATIA V4 and CATIA V5 on production work. Other supply chain partners may operate NX, resulting in collaborative projects that can involve a mix of two CATIA file formats as well as NX data. A further complication is that CATIA V5 assemblies may incorporate embedded CATIA V4 files - a fact that might not become apparent until there is a need to undertake data translation.
Providing a complete solution within a single product, Theorem's Universal CATIA to NX CADverter eliminates the need for users to identify which version of CATIA the target data is supplied in. It not only identifies and converts mixed native CATIA V5 and V4 files automatically, but also recognizes and translates CATIA V5 assemblies that include embedded V4 data - all without operator input.
Most single version translators are unable to accommodate such shared format assemblies, Theorem's Universal CATIA CADverter more than exceeds the capabilities of separate products - as even a combination of stand-alone V5 and V4 translators will fail to meet all user requirements.
Theorems Universal CATIA CADverter is a specifically designed translator supporting both 32bit and 64bit processing to CATIA V5 R21 and NX 8.
Priced as a single translator with a single maintenance cost the latest offering from Theorem resolves two data issues with a single solution saving time, effort and money!

About Theorem Solutions
Theorem Solutions is a long established World leading supplier of services and products that solve a range of engineering data problems for the design and manufacturing communities. Formed in 1991, to address CAD data translation issues, Theorem has gone on to master this challenge and deliver cost saving solutions and consultancy to engineering and manufacturing OEMs and their suppliers throughout the world.
Theorem’s CADverter family of translators provide interoperability capabilities between all of the major CAD systems, providing a comprehensive exchange of data including geometry, attributes and product manufacturing information.
Partner to all major CAD vendors and with the use of vendor supported development environments Theorem’s CADverter products ensure that the data being processed conforms to the specific requirements of the various applications. In addition, as the vendors improve their respective propriety file formats, their supported development environments remove all risks associated with database changes and guarantee to keep pace with the changes they make.
Design, Engineering and Manufacturing companies use Theorem’s consultancy and products to automate and take cost out of collaborating with business partners and they range in complexity from one to one partnerships to solutions for supply chains with hundreds of companies.
As well as enabling interoperability between trading partners Theorem also provides process automation solutions that are used “in house” for tasks such as CAD data migration and long term archiving. These save time and money by streamlining and eliminating the labour intensive tasks involved in translating and managing engineering and manufacturing data, help protect IP and also enable the capture and retention of skills which might otherwise be lost through employee mobility or retirement.
