LizardTech Joins BARSC

Remote sensing organisation welcomes companies with offices in the United Kingdom

SEATTLE, Wash. — Dec. 7, 2011 — LizardTech®, a provider of software solutions for managing and distributing geospatial content, has become a member of the British Association of Remote Sensing Companies (BARSC).

BARSC is an industry association dedicated to the promotion of the interests of all commercial companies involved with remote sensing technology throughout the United Kingdom.

“I am delighted to welcome LizardTech as members of BARSC and am confident that they will find membership of great value for the access it will give to information, people and organisations engaged in relevant activities in the UK,” said Chetan Pradhan BARSC chairman. “BARSC’s members will in turn gain access to the innovative technologies developed and marketed by LizardTech. I am very pleased to see BARSC’s membership continue to grow, adding new dimensions to its portfolio of member capabilities in this way.”

“We’re excited to be joining BARSC, an association known for their support of organisations who work with remote sensing technology and data,” said Kelly Downs, director of sales. “As leaders in creating software for compressing, manipulating and distributing data, we look forward to sharing our knowledge and expertise with other BARSC members as well as gaining access to the information available exclusively to member firms.”

As members LizardTech will now benefit from invitations to regular events that, in the past have included presentations from senior staff of ESA, the UK Space Agency, NCEO, and the like. Regular information emails detailing relevant industry events and, most importantly, eligibility to attend the renowned BARSC Annual Lunch.

Membership in BARSC is open to all remote sensing organisations, no matter their size, with offices in the United Kingdom. LizardTech’s London EMEA office is run and managed by geo-sales and marketing agency Quarry One Eleven.
