MundoGEO#Connect LatinAmerica 2012 launches a research on setup and topics of the event

The community helps to define the activities and the subject matter of the meeting through an online form, and still participates in a drawing for a GPS navigation system

Sao Paulo, November 3, 2011 - MundoGEO#Connect LatinAmerica 2012, the biggest event of the geotechnology industry in Latin America, will be held between May 29 through May 31 at the Frei Caneca Convention Center, in Sao Paulo (SP). The organization of the event has just released an online survey regarding the needs of the community, an event related to geotechnology. 

The data provided by the participants will help the staff of MundoGEO#Connect LatinAmerica 2012 to define some issues related to the event, such as Latin America coverage, the attractions at the products and services exhibit, the format and content of workshops, mini-courses and side by side events, among other factors that make the difference in a successful corporate convention. Furthermore, Participants will enter to win a Garmin Nüvi 1200 GPS Navigation System by filling out the form by November 25.

Eduardo Freitas, coordinator of MundoGEO#Connect LatinAmerica, explains that the online platform is the best way to know the real needs of employees. "We have been using online surveys in this year's edition, held in June, to set the date, location, frequency and duration of the event, as well as the topics of greatest interest." Now the goal is to improve what happened in 2011 and adjust some items for next year. "In the current study, we will improve the first edition happenings and discover new needs of employees to attend a meeting in the geotechnology industry, to ensure a successful event in 2012," he says.

MundoGEO#Connect LatinAmerica 2012 

With the theme "Sharing information for a better world", MundoGEO#LatinAmerica Connect 2012 will emphasize the current challenge of producing geospatial data, following the standards that make their full use simple by the information system users. 

In this edition, the spots available at the MundoGEO#Connect LatinAmerica products and services exhibit were increased by 50%. Besides, the number of auditoriums for the activities of the event was expanded by 100% in relation to the 2011 event.

The MundoGEO#Connect LatinAmerica 2012 is the largest geotechnology industry event in Latin America and will take place between May 29 and 31, at the Frei Caneca Convention Center, in Sao Paulo (SP). With the theme "Sharing information for a better world", the expectation is to bring together 10,000 people in the field, including participants in the workshops and mini-courses, the exhibit visitors and people connected via webinar and social networks. The event is achieved by MundoGEO with the release of MundoGEO and InfoGPS portals, InfoGEO, InfoGNSS and Mira magazines, as well as international support from OGC, ISPRS and Gita, and dissemination by Directions Magazine, GIM International, V1 Magazine, Professional Surveyor and Geo Connexion. The first edition of MundoGEO#Connect took place between the 14 and 16 of June of 2011 in Sao Paulo (SP), bringing together over 7500 people.
