Europa Technologies has today announced two new services for the mobile telecom industry to provide accurate and up-to-date roaming coverage information.
Network Insight Pro and Global Coverage Analyzer are the result of an alliance with American Roamer, the owner of the world’s largest wireless coverage database.
Network Insight Pro is a new and innovative service offering interactive coverage maps of the world for seamless display on a mobile operator’s web site.
It is a major upgrade to Europa Technologies’ existing Network Insight service, which was commended in the prestigious GSM Awards under the category "Best roaming product or service".
The service provides cost savings to operators by promoting channel shift, allowing subscribers to check roaming coverage via a web site, rather than make a call to customer services.
Network Insight Pro is ideal for mobile network operators, MVNOs, roaming hubs, SIM roaming providers and phone rental companies.
The service supports both domestic and international coverage and a wide range of mobile voice/data telecommunication technologies. It is fully interactive, allowing the user to explore the map freely, or go straight to an area of interest using the comprehensive search function. As standard, the service includes logo placement and corporate colour branding.
As part of the partnership, Europa Technologies has access to American Roamer’s catalogue of over 1200 well-maintained coverage patterns for 2G, 3G and 4G networks worldwide.
These cover a wide variety of voice and data technologies including GSM (inc. GPRS/EDGE), W-CDMA/UMTS (inc. HSPA/HSPA+), LTE, CDMA (1X, EV-DO, EV-DO Rev. A & B), iDEN and WiMAX. The international coverage catalogue represents the largest collection available today.
Network Insight Pro has been designed to work with a variety of smartphones and tablets (including iOS and Android devices), and features support for common touch gestures when interacting with the map.
The service is easy to integrate into a service provider’s web site. Once implemented, the service operates in a virtually maintenance free mode with regular coverage map updates handled automatically. The full coverage map catalogue is reviewed quarterly.
The base maps used in the service are from Europa Technologies’ own global data product range and provide essential context. This includes support for a variety of languages including English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Japanese, Arabic, Simplified Chinese, Russian and Hebrew. The application interface can be localised, even for clients in countries where multiple official languages exist.
Additionally, the partnership will enable Europa Technologies to be the first reseller to offer American Roamer’s Global Coverage Analyzer (GCA) service.
GCA is a web-based mapping application for the viewing and comparing of mobile network coverage in over 200 countries worldwide. It has been specifically designed to help operational and strategic professionals to improve their mobile industry research on mobile coverage.
GCA allows a researcher to view and compare multiple coverage patterns on a high quality digital map. After selecting a set of operators, each coverage layer can be assigned a custom colour and opacity, resulting in potentially complex coverage relationships to be visualised intuitively.
