Oce VarioPrint 6250 System 'Highly Recommended' by Buyers Lab

BLI notes printer's '...impressive performance over the extended test period...'

TRUMBULL, Conn., July 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Oce, an international leader in digital document management and delivery, announced the Oce VarioPrint(R) 6250 system has received the "Highly Recommended" rating from Buyers Laboratory Incorporated (BLI). BLI is one of the leading independent providers of competitive intelligence, testing and reviews for the office equipment industry, and evaluates hundreds of products every year. The award-winning Oce VarioPrint 6250 system is the most productive simultaneous duplex printer.

The BLI "Highly Recommended" rating is reserved exclusively for devices that deliver outstanding features and complete rigorous testing. Recently, the popular and innovative Oce VarioPrint 6250 system emerged from a comprehensive BLI laboratory evaluation with this coveted rating, plus a BLI Certificate of Reliability.

The BLI Certificate of Reliability verifies that when the Oce VarioPrint 6250 system was subjected to a durability test consisting of no less than ten million impressions in a networked environment, the system demonstrated a special level of reliability. According to BLI's report during the "extensive 10 million-page test ... the unit proved to be highly reliable, experiencing a misfeed rate of just one per 333,333 impressions, and not a single job from the wide array of complex production-class jobs was produced incorrectly."

In its report, BLI also highlighted other aspects of the Oce VarioPrint 6250 system, referring to it as "a groundbreaking production device" with "the simplest paper path of models in the marketplace." Furthermore, "the touch-screen panel is easy to navigate ... and also provides excellent instructions ... on the various maintenance tasks ... intuitive and straightforward."

David Sweetnam, European Lab and Research Manager of BLI International, said, "During our exhaustive testing of the Oce VarioPrint 6250, the device delivered a very high level of productivity across a wide range of job types and media options. The attention to ease of use during device development was apparent from both a device and desktop operation standpoint, with BLI trained key operators able to get additional members of staff up to speed on use of the device quickly."

"We are proud to be recognized by BLI for the unique value of the Oce VarioPrint 6250 system and its ability to stand up under the most rigorous testing. The 'Highly Recommended' rating and the Certificate of Reliability testify to the system's outstanding image registration accuracy, media flexibility, intrinsic printer reliability and low energy use," said Eric De Goeijen, Vice President of Marketing, Oce.

The BLI report concluded "During the course of its evaluation, the Oce VarioPrint 6250 proved to be highly productive, with throughput speed remaining constant, regardless of media and job type." In summary, the report noted, "BLI highly recommends the Oce VarioPrint 6250 for production environments" and has a "high level of confidence in the suitability of the unit for Oce's recommended monthly duty cycle of eight million impressions."
