Frost & Sullivan Recognizes Geometric's Growth Potential for Engineering Design Services

Based on its recent analysis of the global engineering design services (EDS) markets, Frost & Sullivan recognizes Geometric with the 2008 Frost & Sullivan Emerging Company of the Year Award.

The Award lauds Geometrics consistent revenue growth rate, global engineering delivery network capability that delivers significant value to customers, a balanced vision to ensure long-term market sustenance and strategic partnerships with product lifecycle management (PLM) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) global leaders for both product development and providing services.

Geometric has successfully developed innovative technologies that radically minimize the number of iterations between the design and final product, says Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Muthuraman Ramasamy. The companys innovative technologies that have helped customers improve productivity include Feature Recognition (FR), NestLib and GeomDiff Technology.

These technologies greatly shorten the time to market for a product as they promote the process of first-time right at an optimized cost, thereby reducing the time for re-work. Customers have time and again preferred Geometric for its in-depth expertise in the field of PLM and the breadth of technology they possess to improve profitability goals. In fact, Geometric has added 17 new customers and demonstrated 70 percent revenue growth in 2007.

In the highly competitive EDS markets, customers prefer organizations that have the expertise and capability to deliver solutions collaboratively across diverse geography. As it expanded its global footprint, Geometric, was quick to shift its marketing strategy from an initial indirect approach of selling products and solutions through their channel partners and system integrators, to a direct go-to market strategy having a judicious mix of on-site and off-site delivery centers. This allows it to significantly drive customer service levels due to the close proximity and maximize value-creation for customers through a unified marketing strategy across diverse geographies.

Further, Geometric has strategically strengthened its sales force to effectively market solutions across the major EDS outsourcing economies of United States (U.S.), Europe and Japan. Geometric is now able to leverage its ten global delivery centers, out of which three are located in the low cost hubs of India, China and Romania, for cost-effective delivery of solutions, with a value-proposition that extends beyond being a low cost solution provider.

Geometric has differentiated itself from its competitors by developing a tool, Geometric Agile Methodology (GAMe), which is designed to steadily improve the quality and time taken to deliver the final product/solution to customer without compromising on cost. This best-in-class methodology is used to critically identify and mitigate waste in a process through constant tracking and sounding of alerts in case of an emergency. The key benefits from this tool are effective delivery of the project before time and superior quality at an optimized cost. Geometric has exceeded customer expectations by delivering projects before deadlines, thus impacting the customer bottom lines profitably.

Customers have unswervingly relied on Geometric capability to effectively implement PLM solutions and have demonstrated improvements in productivity and utilization rate of the PLM software, notes Muthuraman.RM. The key benefits that customers derive from partnering with Geometric are maximized operational and process efficiency with an effective utilization rate of assets and solutions, reduced time to market for a new product and a significant improvement in design productivity.

Geometric has successfully established partnerships with PLM providers to provide value-added solutions to customers. The companys ability to provide innovative solutions and the additional momentum gained through acquisitions in the past few years have enabled it to provide solutions that are designed to create exceptional value to customers throughout the lifecycle of a product right from the stage of design to retirement.

Overall, Geometric is one of the very few companies to have progressively built customer loyalty on the foundations of execution expertise, strategic partnerships and unified service offering competently supported by innovative technologies.

The companys consistent revenue growth rate and its significant capability to drive customer profitability are exceptional and Frost & Sullivan is proud to present Geometric with the 2008 Emerging Company of the Year in the EDS domain.

Each year Frost & Sullivan presents this Award to the company that has emerged as a significant participant within its industry, exhibiting outstanding management, superior market growth, exceptional customer service and the ability to combine technology and successful strategic initiatives. The Award lauds the recipients exceptional know-how to identify the market potential and take advantage of market changes through the execution of innovative strategies within the existing competitive landscape.

Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Awards recognize companies in a variety of regional and global markets for demonstrating outstanding achievement and superior performance in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service, and strategic product development.
