JEDEC JC-14.7 Subcommittee Broadens Focus to Include Radio Frequency Technologies

Subcommittee Plans Meeting in April 2024 and Welcomes Industry Participation

ARLINGTON, Va. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — January 17, 2024JEDEC Solid State Technology Association, the global leader in the development of standards for the microelectronics industry, today announced that the JC-14.7 Subcommittee has expanded its scope to include standards for radio frequency (RF) technologies. The subcommittee is set to meet on Friday, April 19th, 2024 near Dallas, Texas, the day after the International Reliability Physics Symposium (IRPS). Industry stakeholders are encouraged to participate, and interested companies are invited to contact the JEDEC office to join the association and engage with JC-14.7.

JC-14.7 is responsible for developing and establishing industry guidelines and standards for discrete devices and integrated circuits (including monolithic microwave integrated circuits, MMICs) that employ semiconductor technologies used in radio frequency (RF), microwave and millimeter wave (mmW) amplification and signal conditioning applications. These applications span various critical areas such as radar, satellite communications, 5G, and beyond. The subcommittee focuses on reliability verification and qualification procedures, DC and RF stress/test methods and measurement techniques as well as unique packaging reliability considerations.

“The expansion of JC-14.7’s scope reflects JEDEC’s commitment to evolving alongside the dynamic microelectronics industry,” said Purushothaman Srinivasan, Chair of the JC-14.7 Subcommittee. “The subcommittee currently oversees three active task groups, each focusing on a distinct technology area (Si-CMOS RF, GaAs RF and GaN RF) providing our members with diverse opportunities to contribute their knowledge and expertise.”
