Collaborative IPD & BIM for Innovative & Proven Project Delivery June 30, 2015, 10 – 11 am CST

Series & Webinar Purpose:

The CETI Winner Webinar Series features significant achievements in technology research, development, and implementation in the capital projects industry.

Upon receiving Fiatech’s prestigious “Celebration of Technology & Innovation Award” in the category of “Intelligent & Automated Construction Job Site”, DPR Construction, was invited to share the overwhelming success of their Palo Alto Medical Foundation (PAMF) Sunnyvale Center project.

Using integrated project delivery (IPD) and BIM, enabled DPR Construction to replace a 55-year-old building with a fully modernized, 120,000-sq.-ft., three-level medical center at $1.8 million below its validation cost. Just one of the specific IPD instances saved a quarter of a million dollars and saved eight weeks on the schedule. The use of BIM not only saved cost, but maintained quality, and helped with scheduling and safety. For the ultimate in efficiency, the team implemented a “just in time” delivery system utilizing a proprietary QR Code Delivery Tracker where inventory was not stored on site, and no worker had idle time either waiting to receive or hand off information or materials.

Webinar Deliverables & Takeaways:

•    See evidence of how IPD, BIM and the use of DPR’s web application resulted in cost, quality and time benefits to the team and owner.
•    Learn how DPR responded to the owner’s need to avoid construction traffic in the residential areas and ensured a smooth flow of jobsite deliveries via an in-house web-based application.
•    Review a technical overview of the QR Code Delivery Tracker and how it combines scheduling capabilities with QR codes to ensure that the materials arrive at the correct location.
