TigerDirect and AMD Celebrate the 17th Annual Build Your Own PC Race for Charity Finals at Tech Bash

One of CES’ most anticipated events moves its Finals competition to Miami for the Third Annual TigerDirect Tech Bash

MIAMI — (BUSINESS WIRE) — November 4, 2014TigerDirect, a subsidiary of Systemax, and AMD are proud to host the 17th annual Build Your Own PC Race For Charity Finals at the TigerDirect Tech Bash on Friday, November 7, 2014 at Miami’s Marlins Park. Taking place center field, the racer who assembles a PC in the fastest time will win the grand prize of a $1,500 TigerDirect gift card and a $1,500 donation to his or her charity of choice.

Over the past three months, the Build Your Own PC Race has been touring the country for a series of regional races that took place at TigerDirect stores in Christiana, DE; Dallas, TX; Chicago, IL; Jacksonville, FL; Tampa, FL; and Miami, FL. The first and second place winners from each regional race were awarded with donations to their favorite charities and an all expenses paid trip to Miami for the Finals competition.

For years, the TigerDirect Build Your Own PC Race has been recognized as one of the most anticipated events at Las Vegas’s annual Consumer Electronics Show. TigerDirect is now pleased to announce they are moving the National Consumer Finals to the TigerDirect Tech Bash held in Miami, FL, making the competition open for public viewing for the first time.

Thirteen finalists will battle it out in a race to completely assemble fully deconstructed PCs in the fastest time. To make the task more challenging, extra parts will be thrown into the mix. Several racers have expressed personal goals of beating this year’s regional race record time of 3:34, set by Delaware’s Damian Muzzi. Following the Finals competition, all of the assembled PCs, provided AMD, will be donated to charity.

The Finals will be held in Miami at the TigerDirect Tech Bash on Friday, November 7th, 2014 at 8pm. Admission to the TigerDirect Tech Bash is free with pre-event registration at www.TigerTechBash.com. A $10 entrance fee will apply for entry at the gate for those who do not pre-register.
