DBx GEOMATICS releases CartoVista Publisher 2.0 to enhance support of CartoVista deployments

Gatineau, October 1st, 2010 – DBx GEOMATICS announced today the release of CartoVista Publisher version 2.0 with multiple enhancements and extended capabilities in terms of map & data publishing.

As a state-of-the-art desktop application, CartoVista Publisher is designed to support every aspect of a CartoVista deployment. The new version of the publisher features advanced management tools to create and maintain both maps and data.

CartoVista Publisher centralizes the management and storage of the users’ map files and style settings. Previous configured maps are easily accessible to rapidly create new maps.

“CartoVista Publisher 2.0 includes numerous enhancements that provide the cartographic freedom to create very high quality maps from existing GIS data in a few clicks”, says Dany Bouchard, President of DBx GEOMATICS inc. “With an improved map and data management interface, access to layer properties and publishing options is now simpler than ever. Other new options such as the ability to define line strokes as dash arrays are available to create rich cartographic outputs for display in Adobe Flash®.”

The Data Publisher component has been entirely redesigned to simplify the end user data management workflow. The interface will now facilitate every aspect of the thematic data management.

A new tool, the Bulk Publisher, is also available to help automate publishing tasks and improve productivity. This dialog can be used to publish multiple maps (CartoVista .CVM files) and data (CartoVista .CVD) in a single step.

The redesigned Layer Properties dialog now offers easy switching between layers and a new Interactivity tab to configure thematics and hyperlinks.

CartoVista Publisher 2.0 supports additional GIS and data formats such as ESRI Personal GeoDatabase (.MDB), Microsoft Access Databases (.MDB) and OGC Web Map Service (WMS) Layers.

To improve the productivity of MapInfo Professional users, CartoVista Publisher 2.0 includes the capability of importing MapInfo Workspaces (.MWS files) to create and setup maps quickly.
