TC Technology Announces Northeastern Rural Electric Membership Corporation Deploys AVL Extension

Carlsbad, CA , April 13, 2010 – TC Technology , a leader in Mobile GIS, announces Northeastern Rural Electric Membership Corporation ( Northeastern REMC ) recently upgraded to an enterprise license agreement (ELA) and implemented GO! Sync Mobile GIS’s new AVL Extension.

Northeastern REMC, headquartered in Columbia City , Indiana , is a consumer-owned corporation that supplies electric power to members in portions of Allen, Huntington , Kosciusko, Noble, Wabash and Whitley counties in Northeastern Indiana . More than 27,000 households and businesses receive power from Northeastern REMC .

The AVL Extension leverages NREMC’s GPS fleet management system to send, receive, and plot the location of company vehicles anywhere in the service territory. It is used to alert crews on the job of nearby assistance and improve situational awareness.

“As a rural electric cooperative, our region isn’t as dense as utilities operating in metropolitan areas, so we need a way to share location-based information,” explains Steve Weber GIS Manager, Northeastern REMC . “Company vehicles are on the move and we need a handle on current location – especially crews and dispatchers. This software lets us take advantage of our IT and GIS infrastructure while empowering the right people with the right information.”

The AVL Extension is new to GO! Sync Mobile GIS and plots vehicle and crew locations while sharing information in real-time with other vehicles and the office. Current location and history is stored in the GIS and available to office and field personnel.

TC Technology ’s ELA includes full use of the entire GO! Sync Mobile GIS product suit, plus product updates, and support for a low annual fee. The offering, similar to ESRI’s ELA program, provides customers of any size a way to affordably deploy GO! Sync Mobile GIS throughout its organization free of licensing hassles.

GO! Sync Mobile GIS is an enterprise mobile solution built for organizations invested in ESRI's ArcGIS software. Rendering directly from a geodatabase and providing a suite of field-friendly tools such as searching, tracing, sketching, and inspecting on a flexible, centrally managed application framework, GO! Sync Mobile GIS is affordable, straightforward to deploy, and suited for both large and small organizations.
