Avatech Solutions Extends Deadline for ‘Render Us Speechless’ Contest Contest offers $5,000 in prizes for topnotch photorealistic renderings and visualizations BALTIMORE, MD – October 16, 2009 – America’s leading professional services company for design and engineering technologies announced today that the submission deadline for the Render Us Speechless contest has been extended by two weeks. The new deadline for submissions is Friday, October 30, 2009. Due to high interest, Avatech is continuing to accept submissions for the rendering contest that will recognize the best digital designers who use Autodesk® design and engineering software.
The four categories are Manufacturing/Mechanical, Civil/Mapping/GIS, Architecture/Building Design, and “Wild Card.” Each category will be awarded a first place of $750, second place of $500, and third place of $250. One Wild Card (submissions that don’t fit into any of the other three categories) winning entry will receive $500. This competition exposes the industries’ most inventive digital designs from architectural designers, civil and land development engineers, mechanical and manufacturing engineers, interior designers, students, and others across commercial and educational organizations. Photorealism, degree of difficulty, aesthetics, and technical skill will be the primary focus of the judges. Select entries will be showcased on Avatech’s Web site and the premiere entries in each category will be exhibited at Autodesk University, where industry peers will cast their vote for their favorite rendering. The new and extended deadline for submissions is Friday, October 30, 2009.
Entrants are welcome to enter as many categories as they want, but the same rendering cannot be entered in more than one category. There is no entry fee. Entries can be submitted via mail or online. For more information, please visit www.avatech.com/renderingcontest.
