EOS Unveils Powerful New Additive Manufacturing Solutions at IMTS 2016 (Booth N-79)

IMTS marks global launch of the EOS M 400-4; Enables customers to increase productivity on large volume jobs

CHICAGO, Sep 9, 2016 – EOS, the global technology and quality leader for high-end Additive Manufacturing (AM) solutions, will showcase its latest systems and solutions at the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) in Chicago, IL from September 12-17, 2016. Customers will get an inside look at some of EOS’s newest and most advanced technology in both metals and plastics, including, for the first time ever, the EOS M 400-4, a four-laser metal system focused on accommodating greater volumes with increased productivity.

“At this year’s IMTS event, we’ll be unveiling the EOS M400-4, our latest metals system. The system contributes to our comprehensive yet customizable breadth of solutions that accommodate our customers’ unique set of requirements,” said Dr. Hans J. Langer, founder and CEO of EOS. “Given our tenure in this industry, we truly understand the needs of our customers.  Events like IMTS give us the opportunity to connect with them firsthand to demonstrate how AM can help solve their biggest business challenges.”

Wohler’s Report 2016 determined the AM industry grew 25.9 percent in 2015. EOS, with a growing North America market that topped $100 million in FY15, aims to continue pushing the greater AM industry forward through its dedication to innovation and R&D. Some of its newest innovation products and systems will be on display at the EOS booth in North Building B-Hall, N-79, at IMTS, including:

  • EOS M 400-4: EOS will present this innovative metals system for the first time. Designed for industrial applications, the ultra-fast, four-laser system expands EOS’s offerings by building on established EOS technology. The EOS M 400-4 takes the technology to the next level, offering more productivity, part quality and scalability to meet manufacturing requirements while still allowing for easy integration into existing production environments.

  • FORMIGA P 110: This flexible, cost-efficient and highly productive system is ideal for customers just entering the AM space. Without requiring tools, the system makes direct use of digital CAD data to produce polymer parts of the highest surface quality. Using materials with a high level of recyclability, the FORMIGA P 110 also provides sustainability to both novice and experienced users.

  • EOSTATE MeltPool Solution: An add-on to the EOS M 290 DMLS system, the MeltPool technology provides reliable process monitoring throughout the entire AM process. By moving this monitoring from post- to in-process, the MeltPool technology supports better risk management and reduces time and costs for quality assurance. The high-performance online monitoring tool ensures even greater transparency of the complex build process.
