NM Group Expand Geographic Reach - Winning First Major Project in Norway

Jun 20, 2016 -- NM Group, a global leader in providing asset, vegetation and engineering services to power utilities, announced today they have been awarded a significant survey project with Norwegian grid operator Statnett.

The project is to acquire around 1,100 km of HV transmission data situated along the Western Norway. NM Group will produce a 3D model of the grid to determine conductor clearance and new engineering projects. Additionally this they will provide high resolution imagery and 2D topographic mapping in order to update Statnett’s ESRI geodatabase.

Greg Lewis, Senior Project Manager commented “We look forward to working with Statnett on this important new contract. Of course, the extreme terrain and detailed specification will present some logistical and technical challenges. However, we are very confident that we have the expertise and long experience required to deliver an excellent solution that will improve safety and increase reliability for our client”.
