Wiener Netze / Vienna Networks: Start of Production with ArcFM UT in the Branch Electricity

Vienna, Munich, February 2016 - The Wiener Netze have started in January 2016 the production with the software ArcFM UT of AED-SICAD in the branch electricity. Thus the Wiener Netze now work on 40 multi-utility editor seats not only on electricity data but also on gas data. In the future also the branch district heating will be migrated towards ArcFM UT. Besides the as-built maps, also the extensive overview maps have been migrated to ArcFM UT. The overview maps are used among other things also for the switching operations in the electricity network. In the future, it will be updated nearly fully automatically using the software module ArcFM UT Generalization to incorporate network changes. The UT Integrator continues to play an important role for the integration of the technical asset information from the GIS with the financial and maintenance information of the SAP PM system. Here, the UT integrator is used within the front – but also within the backend. For the information dissemination the Wiener Netze rely within their company on WebOffice and on an ArcGIS mobile-based offline solution from AED-SICAD business partner SynerGIS.
