ASPRS IGTF 2016 Announces Call for Presentations and Workshops

November 16, 2015—(Bethesda, MD) —  The American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) requests abstracts for its IGTF 2016 conference program, which will be held in Fort Worth, TX, USA, April 11-15, 2016.

The ASPRS Imaging and Geospatial Technology Forum (IGTF) is the premier scientific and engineering forum in the United States (and one of the top internationally) for geospatial professionals from industry, government, and academia.  ASPRS invites your participation.

In its 81st year, the annual meeting of ASPRS covers Lidar, Remote Sensing, Professional Practice, Photogrammetry, Unmanned-Autonomous Systems (UAS), Graphical Information Systems (GIS), geospatial analytics, and emerging themes, e.g. pervasive sensors, geospatial big data, and the internet of things, among others.

Submissions are requested by January 8, 2016 for:

  • Abstracts for oral (slide-based and poster-based) presentation proposals are requested that address policy, business, technology, and/or geospatial applications related to food, water, energy, natural resources, transportation, shelter, and security.  While many of the presenters will be well-known and respected scientists, engineers, and business people, student-submitted abstracts will be an integral part of the program.
  • Also sought are proposals for professional development workshops (lecture or hands-on), which are intended to be educational, not promotional for vendor specific software or hardware.  We encourage proposals to repeat popular workshops, as well as to develop new workshops that address new capabilities and problem sets.
  • New this year, proposals are sought for Frontier Day Business and Frontier Day STEM /STEAM Workshops – a special day devoted to business development and youth development. Workshops will cover themes of local and regional interest, such as: oil and gas; Public Safety; 3D Intelligent Cities; and STEM/STEAM Education.
