EuroGeographics strengthens team with two new appointments

Jul 14, 2014 -- EuroGeographics has announced two new appointments to help grow the use of its members data and keep them at the forefront of European policy developments.

As Sales, Marketing and Channel Manager, Angela Baker is responsible for increasing the licensing of EuroGeographics’ pan-European products through its network of value-added resellers, distributors and via direct sales.

Angela has an MSc in Cartography and GeoInformation Technology and has worked in the GI industry since graduating from the University of Glasgow in 1998. Prior to joining EuroGeographics, she was Community Programmes Manager for Esri UK working with key stakeholders to support the increased use of GI within colleges and universities.

Angela is also a Chartered Geographer and a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG). She has previously held posts on the board of the Association for Geographic Information and as a council member for the British Cartographic Society.

Marjana Zelic, who joins the EuroGeographics as Research and Policy Officer, is no stranger to the Association having been an active member of its Business Interoperability Knowledge Exchange Network (KEN) on behalf of the State Geodetic Administration of the Republic of Croatia.

Marjana is an lawyer specialising in geoinformation and will work alongside Representation Manager, Derek Earnshaw. She will focus on ensuring that members are kept up to date with global developments in geospatial data and that stakeholders across the world understand the benefits of members’ geoinformation and activities.

EuroGeographics’ Executive Director and Secretary General, Dave Lovell OBE said: “We have a small but highly experienced head office team which leads our European Affairs and Representation and coordinates our knowledge exchange networks, products, projects, and other activities. The vast professional knowledge and expertise that Angela and Marjana bring is a welcome addition that I know will greatly benefit our members and the services and support we provide.”
