Quad Channel Cross-Point Analog Transmit/Receive Switch From Supertex Offers Design Flexibility for Medical Ultrasound Systems

SUNNYVALE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- Nov 26, 2013 -- Supertex (NASDAQ: SUPX), a recognized leader in high voltage analog and mixed signal integrated circuits (ICs), today introduced the MD0201, a low voltage four-channel T/R analog cross point switch designed for medical ultrasound imaging applications.

The MD0201 includes low voltage CMOS analog switches and digital control logic for serial interface control circuits, as well as provision of voltage limiting diodes and output shunt switches. The analog switches have low insertion loss, low noise, wide frequency response, high off-isolation and low channel-to-channel crosstalk. The output shunt switches prevent overloading the low noise amplifier. Inputs are connected to the output of the two terminal type ultrasound T/R switches, with the two back-to-back diodes providing voltage limiting. The buffered serial interface data registers allows maximum design flexibility to connect multiple channels for better signal routing.

"As medical diagnostic ultrasound systems increase in both portability and channel density, Supertex remains committed to providing innovative products to ultrasound equipment manufacturers with the highest performing ICs on the market," states Jimes Lei, Director of Application Engineering of Supertex. "The MD0201 topology provides more system design flexibility for image quality enhancement."

The MD0201 is available in a lead(Pb)-free/RoHS compliant 48-lead 7x7 QFN package (MD0201K6-G). Samples are available from stock. Lead-time for production quantities is 4-6 weeks, ARO. Pricing is US$10.38 each in 1K quantities.
