3D-CAD Cloud Viewer: KISTERS 3DViewStation WebViewer

September 13, 2013: KISTERS has announced the release 1.11 of the 3DViewStation WebViewer product version. The KISTERS 3DViewStation WebViewer is a cloud and mobile solution that can be integrated with your own cloud services to enable the viewing, inspection, and sharing of 3D manufacturing and construction data on the fly. The KISTERS 3DViewStation product family is known for high performance 3D-viewing, current and mature CAD-importers plus a reasonable set of functional tools to view, analyze and communicate 3D-data.

KISTERS 3DViewStation WebViewer is WebGL-based and requires just a browser supporting WebGL. There is no client installation at all. Just point to an URL of a 3D-model and your browser will display it. WebGL is currently supported by Firefox, Chrome, Opera. Microsoft has announced support for WebGL with Internet Explorer 11.  3DViewStation WebViewer ships with a 3D-CAD data translation module which reads about 20 fileformats including latest Catia, NX, Creo, ProE, Solidworks, Solidedge, Inventor, JT, STEP, 3D-PDF and more and outputs the 3DVSWeb-format, a preview image plus a 3D-PDF representation for offline usage. The 3DViewStation WebViewer client allows navigation, analysis, dimensioning and explosion of 3D-models. There are customization possibilities available to control mouse-button of finger usage and there is a rich API for integration purposes.

The KISTERS 3DViewStation is developed very close to customer requirements, available as Desktop, ActiveX and WebViewer product-version. The ActiveX integration component is intended to be used together with a PLM- or other management system. For cloud, portal and web-solutions there is a WebGL-based Browser solution available, which does not require any client installation at all. All file formats can be used in combination with the intelligent navigation- and hyperlinking features to address needs of complex integration scenarios.
